Dear Friends of The Garment District -
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for making this our best Halloween season ever!
As many of you know, 2005 has been a very challenging year for The Garment District. The sale of The Garment District building and our negotiations to keep The Garment District located at 200 Broadway have been difficult and time consuming. The continued support that our customers, neighbors and friends have shown has helped us to weather a grueling time. We remain committed to staying in business at 200 Broadway, and are optimistic that this will be the case.
We are very fortunate to have support from the City of Cambridge’s elected officials and staff. City Councilor Brian Murphy has gone the extra mile to help The Garment District. He believes in the value of locally-owned businesses and has worked tirelessly to make sure that The Garment District has every opportunity to stay in Cambridge and continue to serve our customers and provide local jobs.
In addition to the help we have received from Councilor Murphy, we are very grateful for the assistance and support that we have received from the Honorable Mayor Michael Sullivan, Vice Mayor Marjorie Decker, and City Councilors Timothy Toomey, Jr., Henrietta Davis, Denise Simmons, and David Maher.
We are all fortunate to have these people working to keep unique local businesses like The Garment District in Cambridge. Election Day is next Tuesday, November 8th. Please show your support for those who have supported The Garment District, so that they can continue to be a voice for us and for you, in and beyond City Hall.
The Garment District would not be here today without the support of our long-time and new customers. You have allowed us to stay in business for almost 20 years and, with your continued support, we look forward to the next 20 years or more.
Thanks again,
Chris Cassel
President
The Garment District, Inc.
