Dance Through The Decades

Boston can be a unique and fashionable town at times – especially this week. This is a big shopping week for vintage fashion. Some people are shopping for outfits to wear to the prom, but the majority of people shopping for vintage clothing this week will probably be going to Boston College’s annual “Dance Through The Decades” celebration. Every year The Garment District is mobbed with people looking to dress in ‘40s, ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s and, now more popular than ever, the ‘80s, which leaves me wondering when the “grunge” look of the ‘90s will become retro. The ‘80s look that we are seeing is more Madonna than Poison, and I'd really like to see more people emulating that glam-metal rock look, but either way, come by The Garment District and see what’s happening this week. We've got a lot of great period items that can make your outfit work, and our staff is excellent at helping to put together the perfect look for your. Even if you’re not going to a prom or year end celebration, it's always fun shopping at The Garment District.
