Halloween '08:

Well it’s definitely that time of year again. We’ve radically transformed the store to meet everyone’s Halloween needs. We’ve added 15 registers and an incredible amount of staff. As we do every year we’ve added retail space (how we keep finding space to expand I don’t know).

I was at an iparty the other night. Or rather I was outside one. It was closed. Not sure what their late hours were but it wasn’t that late. Wish I could have seen inside. However, from what I could see from the window there were a couple of things that make The Garment District & Boston Costume stand out as a Halloween destination.

#1) Open until Midnight every night. The fact that I could get in to the iparty store made me wonder why that could be possible.

#2) We are at least 5 times bigger than any party store I’ve seen. There must be somewhere bigger somewhere that dedicates itself to Halloween. I haven’t seen it, however.

#3) The Garment District sells costumes like they are clothing. We hang the majority of the costumes up and have 21 dressing rooms available to try things on. We have everything from packaged costumes, to a huge selection of accessories, to actual period clothing. This means you can make your costume as unique as you want it to.

#4) Quality & depth. Boston Costume is a year-round costume store so we have a variety that other party stores just don’t have. And we do it all. From cheap used clothing to work up your own idea to packaged costumes easy to just grab & wear. We also have high-end rentals, superheroes, professional makeup & wigs. The list is way too long to list.

#5) Near downtown & the Kendall redline T stop. Most other party stores are outside the city. There are no other party stores this close to the center of Boston. We are convenient to where people work & go to school.

Remember – shop early! Halloween can get very busy. Early in the day & late-late night are the best times to shop.
